About Me
I’m Angie, and I frequently go by the online moniker kurodatenshi.
I love shopping, Japanese pop and subculture and anime. I also have an unfortunate habit of buying things compulsively and regretting it later. I have many things that are too new and valuable to dispose, and unsuitable for charity, hence I took to hawking my stuff online lol.
My online transaction history began on a Livejournal blog as My Thrift Store in June 2009. Then I remembered that I still had this lovely domain name celestial-delinquent.com which was basically doing nothing except forwarding to my personal livejournal, so I decided to make a more professional website for my sales journal.
I discovered the joys of shopping on Taobao late 2009 after people on the EGL community posted glowing reviews of their Taobao purchases. I started off by purchasing through a Taobao Shopping Service. Then I realized that communicating directly with Taobao sellers myself would be easier since many Taobao Shopping Services (well, the ones I dealt with anyway) know next to nothing about my unconventional hobbies. With the help of an agent in China who tops up my Alipay account and provides logistics services, I was able to purchase smoothly from Taobao.
But international shipping costs remains a real pain so after a few successful attempts of purchasing Taobao items myself, I decided to rope in some friends to purchase with me and share the shipping costs. Since then, helping my friends to buy stuff on Taobao became a regular thing for me.
I love doing these orders because through my friends and fellow shoppers, I’ve learnt about many excellent Taobao shops I’d not have discovered otherwise. Besides, it feels good to buy things and spend money, especially when the money isn’t mine XD
I have a full time job and online selling / buying is more of a hobby than a means to support myself (I certainly don't make enough to quit my job!). Of course, I try my best to provide the best service possible, even if it’s just a hobby. If there’s anything I should improve on, don’t hesitate to let me know!
